TCC Governance: Workforce Development Committee

Purpose

To identify workforce training areas which should be targeted by TCC.  To assess current workforce training projects for effectiveness.  To develop TCC as a proactive player in regional economic development. To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas between college academic and non-credit programs. Reports through the Vice President for Workforce Development.

The Charge

  • Through the committee chair, identify one or more areas not presently being served by Workforce Development through which TCC can become a proactive player in regional economic development.
  • In conjunction with the Associate Vice President for Workforce Development, Associate Vice President for Military Programs and the Associate Vice President for Operations and Special Programs, assess at least one current workforce training project for its effectiveness.
  • Through the committee chair, identify means to insure the effective flow of communication between staff in the Division of Workforce Development and Academic and Student Services staff on each of the campuses.
  • Through the committee chair, participate in the deliberations of the President’s Advisory and Planning Council (PAPC), keeping the group informed as appropriate about the work of the committee.
  • Prepare an annual report to include major accomplishments, unfinished business, and recommendations for the future no later than May 1, 2009 to be submitted to the chair of the PAPC and to the Office of the Vice President for Workforce Development.
