Thomas S. Cleary - President.

Dr. Thomas S. Cleary currently serves as the Vice President for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness at Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida. He has earned B.S., M.B.A., M.S., and Ed.D. degrees. He is a member of the Society of College and University Planners, Florida Association of Community Colleges, American Association of Community Colleges, Council for Resource Development and the Association for Institutional Research. Dr. Cleary’s areas of expertise include Assessment, Accreditation, Grants Writing, Strategic Planning, Enrollment Management, Computer Information Systems, Institutional Research, and Performance Indicators and Accountability Measures.

Dr. Gwen Aldridge - President-Elect and Program Chair.

Gwen Polk Aldridge presently serves as the Director of Institutional Planning and Research at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, Mississippi. Prior to taking this position in January, 2002, she taught mathematics. Gwen has served as Vice-President and as President of the Mississippi Collegiate Mathematics Association, as Vice-President and President of MAIR, and as Secretary for SACCR for two terms. She has made presentations for MAIR, for the Mississippi Academy of Sciences, for the Mississippi Collegiate Mathematics Association and for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Her paper on “Bayesian Bootstrap Methods for Developmental Studies” was published in the February 2005 issue of The Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation.

Gwen Aldridge attended Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, where she earned a B.S.E. degree in Mathematics and the University of Mississippi in Oxford where she earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics, with area of concentration in Statistics. Gwen and her husband are parents of two daughters and two sons and they reside in Batesville, MS. She is committed to the SACCR organization and places great value in the resources and networking opportunities that the organization provides.

Debbie GoodmanDebbie Goodman – Immediate Past President.

Debbie is the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness at Southwest Georgia Technical College (SWGTC), a position she has held since 1994. In this role, her major responsibilities are initiating and managing SWGTC’s Institutional Effectiveness Model and its components; and coordinating the preparation of the College’s fact book, strategic plan, annual plan, Perkins Grant, and SWGTC Performance Accountability System (PAS). She also coordinates staff development at SWGTC. Debbie has directed institutional self-studies for COC and COE and has served on several accreditation visiting teams for the two agencies. Following team member training at the last SACCR conference, Debbie served on an on-site team for a technical college reaffirmation of accreditation. Debbie holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Oklahoma State University. She worked previously in higher education at Rogers State College, Claremore, Oklahoma and at Troy State University in Dothan, Alabama. She is currently serving as member-at-large for GAIRPAQ (Georgia Association of Institutional Research, Planning, Assessment, and Quality). She serves on the Data Committee of the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education: PAS Peer Group, an organization she previously served as chair.

Debbie is a long-time member of SACCR, attending most SACCR annual meetings since 1994 and has presented at past meetings. Debbie lives at the Big Barn Cottage on Pebble Hill Plantation outside of Thomasville, GA with her husband Wallace and chocolate laboratory retriever Molly. Wallace is the general manager of the 3,000 acre Plantation. Pebble Hill consists of an historic home, now open as a house museum housing incredible sporting art and collections, various stables and out-buildings, and property. The Plantation is owned by Pebble Hill Foundation and is open to the public as a major tourist attraction in the State of Georgia. The web site is www.pebblehill.com. In her spare time Debbie serves on boards of local organizations: Halcyon Home and the Boys and Girls Club. She enjoys interior design, landscaping, and reading.

Deborah Josey-BurksDeborah Josey-Burks, Secretary.

Mrs. Burks is employed with Central Georgia Technical College in Macon, GA as the Institutional Effectiveness Coordinator. She was formerly with South Georgia Technical College in Americus, GA as the Director of Institutional Research and Planning where she was employed for over sixteen years.

In her position as Institutional Research and Planning Coordinator her responsibilities include the completion of the College's Strategic Plan; Performance Accountability System institutional performance data collection, review and submittal; Carl Perkins Grant administration; College Fact Book; Institutional Assessment and Planning; and assisting in the completion of special grants and projects. She serves as the College's accreditation liaison with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS/COC).

Mrs. Burks is currently enrolled in the Master of Science (MS)in Education Postsecondary and Adult Education Specialization with Capella University and holds a B.S. Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, GA. She also is a graduate of South Georgia Technical College with a diploma in Computer Information Systems and Microcomputers.

She currently serves as Past President and member of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sumter County, a non-profit organization. She has been a member of SACCR since 1997 and served a term as Secretary to the organization. She is married with two daughters, eighteen and ten.

Larry Lemaris DayLarry Lemaris Day, Member at Large (Programs & Outstanding Paper Awards).

Dr. Larry Lemaris Day is the Associate Executive Director for Accountability & Technology, Mississippi State Board for Community and Junior Colleges.

He has been employed with SBCJC since 1989 and has more than 19 years of planning, research, and community college experience. As Associate Executive Director, he is responsible for enrollment audits, research, strategic planning, workforce monitoring activities, capital improvements, and technology. Prior to 01 July 2004, he served as Director of Research & Planning. Dr. Day has also conducted numerous research studies, three of which were published. His study on the Potential for Retirement in Mississippi’s Public Community and Junior Colleges provided critical data which led to several initiatives to increase the pool of faculty, staff and administrators. From 1985-1988, he served as registrar at Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma. Dr Day received a Doctorate degree in college administration from Texas Southern University, Houston, TX; a Master of Science degree in education from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles; and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Tougaloo College, Tougaloo, MS.

Edie will, once again, serve as the Editor for the SACCR Newsletter, a duty she has performed for more years than she cares to remember. A long time member of SACCR, Edie received her Ph. D. in Educational Research from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). When not applying the blue pencil to the SACCR newsletter, Edie serves as Assistant Professor of Educational Studies at Radford University.

Annabelle LewisAnnabelle Lewis, Communications Chair.

Dr. Lewis is a graduate of Concord College, East Tennessee State University and Colorado State University. She currently serves as Director of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness at Augusta Technical College in Augusta, GA. She spent the last 16 years in various positions in postsecondary education. These professional experiences include: Vice President of Instruction at Chattahoochee Technical College; Campus Dean at Coconino Community College in Arizona; and, District Dean and Campus Dean at Mohave Community College in Arizona. Dr. Lewis has been a member and officer of numerous professional and community organizations including: Work Force Recruitment and Job Training Council with the Arizona Department of Commerce; Kingman Arizona Airport Authority, Inc.; Arizona Peace Officers Standards and Training Board; Arizona Academic and Occupational Administrators Associations; and, lifetime member of American Association of University Women.

Lisa Kleiman, Web Master. Lisa Kleiman, Web Master
Lisa Kleiman has served as director of institutional effectiveness at Tidewater Community College since 1999. Her career began at TCC in 1979 as a research associate in the Office of Institutional Research. She progressed as coordinator of institutional research, and then director. In addition to her current duties heading the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, she recently served as interim grants director for the college.

She holds a bachelor of science in business administration and a master of arts in economics from Old Dominion University.

Ms. Kleiman is a longtime member of the Southeastern Association of Community College Researchers (SACCR) and has served as chair of local arrangements for the 28th annual conference held in Norfolk, an at-large member on the SACCR Board, SACCR Virginia state coordinator, and SACCR webmaster for the last five years.
