WorkKeys ® — ACT WorkKeys is a national, comprehensive assessment system designed to provide students, jobseekers, and employers with relevant information about workplace skills levels. Combined with information about skill levels required for jobs, the Work Keys assessment information can help users make better career and educational decisions.

Over 250 employers in Virginia use Work Keys to hire, train, and retain a skilled workforce. WorkKeys has been integrated into the state’s workforce development system through the
Virginia Career Readiness Certificate, a portable employability skills credential. And, Virginia school systems use the Work Keys Writing Assessment as a substitute for the Standards of Learning Writing test.
