Bill Marcil’s 19 years as a registered occupational therapist include professional work in hospitals, hospice and clinical settings providing occupational therapy services for adults with physical disabilities, injuries and terminal illnesses. After joining TCC in 2003, Marcil expanded the college’s occupational therapy assistant program from a one-year certificate to an associate of applied science and increased enrollment by 26 percent during his first year. He continues to expand program offerings while coordinating curriculum development, as well as teaching, counseling and advising students. Marcil’s published works include the book titles Occupational Therapy: What it is and How it Works, Terminal and Life Threatening Illness: an Occupational Behavior Approach, The Person with AIDS: a Personal and Professional Perspective and Caring for Someone in Your Home. Certified and licensed to practice occupational therapy in South Carolina, Virginia and New York, he holds a B.S. and M.S. in occupational therapy from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Regent University. |
