Scope of this guide: find books, articles, and other resources with biographical information.
Call number areas to browse
There is no "biography" section in the TCC libraries. A biography of Beethoven would be classified with other books about music, Einstein with science, Steinbeck with literature, etc. Use the library catalog to do a subject search using the person's name (last name first). Here you will find a list of books the library owns about this person.
Keywords to search: biography and the person, place or event,
or class of person you are seeking. e.g. Lincoln and biography, e.g.
New York and biography, e.g. Civil War and biography, e.g. Scientists
and biography.
Subjects to search (Library of Congress): Biography. Search
also under: subdivision Biography under names of countries, cities, etc.,
names of individual literary authors and corporate bodies, uniform titles
of sacred works, and under classes of persons, ethnic groups, individual
and groups of animals, and historic events.
