At TCC, we value our friends and donors who invest in the future of the college and its students. On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff at Tidewater Community College, thank you for your continued support! You are the reason we can go anywhere.

“The scholarships I received were an important part of the success I had at TCC.  The financial aid they provided allowed me to participate in valuable extracurricular activities that I would not have been able to do otherwise, including my medical research internship at the Brookhaven National Laboratory.  Being chosen for the scholarship awards was a big encouragement, fueling my enthusiasm for continuing my education at William & Mary.”

Kaitlin Burke graduated from TCC in May 2009 with an Associates Degree in Science.  While at TCC she was the recipient of the Betty L. Shores Memorial Scholarship and the T. Michael Laney Memorial Science Scholarship.  She is currently continuing her education at the College of William and Mary.

Professor Gary Cross with TCC's state-of-the-art Human Patient Simulator.

“The Batten Fellowship gave me a unique opportunity that is virtually unheard of at community colleges.  As the first Batten Fellow, I was able to create new high fidelity patient care simulations that enhance the way my colleagues and I teach and improve the learning process of our students.  TCC faculty are extremely fortunate to have this resource to provide for the further development of innovative and creative ways of teaching.”

Gary Cross is an Assistant Professor of Respiratory Therapy and the first faculty member to receive the Batten Fellowship.
