THe Campaign for TCC

Campaign Priorities

Information Technology – Goal: $2.5 million

In today’s competitive environment, TCC must be on the forefront, preparing a technologically-skilled workforce to use current and emerging technologies. The campaign provides for expansion of programs in this field by adding labs essential to our programs in Wireless Networks, Network Security and Cisco certification. Investments in this area provide advanced multimedia classrooms and studios which will allow TCC to serve students in off-site locations, delivering instruction directly to the home or workplace through Internet and video technology.

High Demand Technical and Industrial – Goal: $2.5 million

The high-paced industry and manufacturing marketplace demands that students be skilled workers as well as problem solvers. TCC students must learn with cutting-edge technology and train in environments that simulate the workplace. The Campaign provides for new fiber optic equipment used by many regional employers, virtual simulators used in our Truck Driving Program, and maritime repair equipment used by many ship building/repair employers.

Classroom and Laboratory – Goal: $1.5 million

To fuel the regional workforce with knowledge of the newest scientific and technological developments, TCC’s facilities must model future workplace environments. TCC needs to prepare students in a technology-intensive atmosphere where they can simulate current and future workplace trends. Investments in this area fund much needed classroom instructional technology upgrades, updated Biology and Chemistry Labs, expansion of classrooms for Computer Graphics and Photography programs, digitization of Art History’s slide collection, and the expansion of Clay and Glass Studios in the Visual Arts Center.

Health Professions – Goal: $1.5 million

TCC prepares the highest quality caregivers - nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapist assistants, and dietetic technicians for careers in the health professions. As health professions become increasingly technology focused, we must provide our students with training that simulates the most current trends in healthcare. The campaign provides cutting-edge equipment necessary to prepare our students for the demands of today’s health care employers.

Unrestricted Endowment – Goal: $2 million

Expanding TCC’s endowment provides perpetual support of the college and will enable us to better pursue excellence in serving our current students as well as future generations. Such gifts allow us to invest the principal of the gift, making a portion of the earnings available each year for student scholarships, instructional equipment, and professional development for faculty and staff in addition to other needs the college may have.
