Dr. William Paquette received word today from James A. Leach, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities in a letter that stated that the NEH Landmark Grant "The Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians" has ALSO been selected for the "We the People" project as a special initiative. Chairman Leach wrote that "...We the People initiative is to encourage and strengthen the teaching, study, and understanding of American history and culture through the support of projects that explore significant events and themes in our nation's history and culture and that advance knowledge of the principles that define America. He anticipates that the project will contribute significantly to this effort."
