Tidewater Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges
of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate
Degree
For Non-Transfer students, the Accounting Program offers three options: a Career
Studies Certificate, an Accounting
Specialist Certificate, and an Associate
in Applied Science Degree. Additional accounting courses are offered in
bookkeeping, hospitality accounting, payroll, and small business accounting.
Because all classes are not offered every semester, please click on the link to the curriculum guide sheets. We encourage you to contact any of our full-time faculty members to discuss your course scheduling.
Transfer students who wish to pursue a four-year degree in Accounting
should follow the degree program for Associate in Science in Business Administration.
Upon graduation, students transfer to the four-year college of their choice
in junior status. This is called the 2+2 program.
An articulation agreement with Norfolk State
University allows for the transfer of all accounting courses in certificate

The Accounting Program is supported by an accounting advisory committee composed of accounting professionals. Meetings are held annually to discuss changes within the accounting profession, to study new accounting trends, and to update the accounting curriculum as needed.
